EUPOL COPPS hand over equipment to Palestinian Tourist Police
Ramallah, February 16, 2012 - EUPOL COPPS handed over specialised equipment to the Palestinian Tourist Police in the West Bank city of Ramallah to enhance their capabilities.
The 11 kits, which contain necessary items for the Tourist Police such as rubber boots, bags, ropes, gloves, dust masks, helmets and head torches, will be distributed to 11 West Bank districts.
The equipment is part of a small project funded by the EUPOL COPPS, which has been supporting Palestinian Tourist Police in workshops and courses at home and abroad.
Tourist Police, one of Palestinian Civil Police departments, plays a key role in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, a home to many tourist-attracting sites.
