Ramallah, 7th April 2010 - EUPOL COPPS’ Command and Control experts participated in a workshop on the Operation Control Room (Ops Rooms) organized by the Palestinian Civil Police (PCP). The meeting took place today, 7th April, at the HQ of the PCP Protect and Guard Unit in At Tireh (Ramallah).
Colonel Ghazy ASFOUR, Commander of the PCP Ops Rooms, together with the Ops Rooms Commanders of all West Bank District Offices, briefed EUPOL COPPS’ officials on the development of the new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
EUPOL COPPS has already completed the first phase of the Ops Room training and all Control Rooms have been refurbished. Today, an evaluation document was handed over to the PCP Ops Rooms Commanders to analyze the status of qualification of every Police Officer in Ops Rooms to determine future training needs.
EUPOL COPPS’ Command and Control Expert, Mr Jorg JANSEN, affirmed that “an Ops Room is the heart of the Police, a public service for the population in all emergency situations” highlighting “the excellent developments of the Ops Rooms in the West Bank”.
To develop the capacity of the OPS-Room is a prioritized project of the PCP Strategic Plan 2010-12.
