EUPOL COPPS and PCP have workshop on Human Resources

Ramallah, 14th May 2010 - EUPOL COPPS’ experts and Palestinian Civil Police officers met in EUPOL COPPS’ Headquarters in Ramallah on 12th May for a joint workshop on Human Resources (HR) where the current state of the HR of the Palestinian Civil Police was evaluated.
 
This joint Working Group between EUPOL COPPS and the PCP is divided into 4 sub-groups that deal with the following issues, of great importance for a modern and democratic Police force:
 
-          the development of an efficient recruitment system
-          the introduction of a career development plan including a performance evaluation system
-          the development of an electronically HR system
-          social welfare
 
This joint workshop produced very fruitful discussions regarding the current situation of the above mentioned four sub-issues. From there on, problems and deficiencies were jointly identified, and possible solutions were presented.
 
This is all be part of the project plan what will after implementing it to the PCP lead to a future oriented, effective and fair HR-system.
 

Further meetings of the Working Group will take place within the oncoming weeks in order to finalize the project proposals.
