Ramallah, 6th Feb 2013 - EUPOL COPPS donated a package of high quality digital cameras to the Palestinian Civil Police (PCP) Public Relations and Media Department to promote Police activities in the press and media.
The camera and necessary accessories, which have been distributed to the Police Press and Public relation officers working in the 11 West Bank districts, were handed over to the Director of Public Relations and Media Department of the PCP, Lieutenant Colonel Mansour Khuzaimia. Further donations of equipment will take place over the coming Months.
The main objective of such project funded by EUPOL COPPS is to help the PCP in highlighting and promoting understanding of its activities accross the different West Bank. This will help the PCP in its daily work, and specifically officers in charge of Press and Public Information at District and Headquarters level.
These efforts are part of a comprehensive approach by EUPOL COPPS Press and Public Information Office to strengthen capacity and new capabilities within the PCP. Twenty five Press officers from the PCP and criminal justice institutions recently completed a workshop on "Media capacity building" to improve their media and public relations skills.
