EUPOL COPPS hands over Operations Room to Palestinian Police

Bethlehem, 11th Feb 2013  - EUPOL COPPS  officially handed over new equipment for the Bethlehem District Police Headquarters Operations Room that will eventually facilitate new working practices and enhance their efficiency.

The new layout, which includes desks, tables, chairs, air conditioning units and television screens, will accommodate increased staff and improve their working conditions. New IT systems are set to be introduced later this year across the West Bank.

The new room will enable the PCP to better  tackle incidents of crime, disorder, traffic accidents and civil disputes and thus  maximising the  efficiency of the PCP.
The Operations Room is the main control chamber for all incoming telephone calls from the public and the radio link to all patrols and PCP resources out on the ground.
The systems will also eventually provide increased safety and security for Bethlehem, a hugely visited area of Palestinian occupied territory.
