Ramallah, 19th August 2013 - EUPOL COPPS participated in a two-day workshop organized by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in the West Bank city of Ramallah for the Palestinian Civil Police (PCP). The aim was to develop a concept and way forward for the PCP to create an agreement and a roadmap for the future building and daily management of community stations in the West Bank.
An EUPOL COPPS Police adviser provided input and expertise in the four key topics: Management organisation and structure, job descriptions, standard operating procedures and evaluation and assessment.
The workshop culminated in the GIZ, PCP field committee and EUPOL COPPS agreeing an action plan for the further development and a mechanism for the coordination of the project. During the workshop both PCP and GIZ emphasised the need for EUPOL COPPS continued support in providing expertise, knowledge and advice during the whole process.
