On 7 August 2014, EUPOL COPPS provided training equipment to Palestinian civil Police (PCP) to enhance its capacity to better serve the Palestinian citizens.
The training equipment was distributed at the Jericho police training school. It includes crime scene kits, sport mattresses , training weapons and cameras. The training devices will be used to conduct what is called an in-Service training session, a model of training delivered at the local level, allowing PCP officers to benefit from training programmes while in service in their districts or units of assignment.
The introduction of the programme, which will be executed in all West Bank districts, will be cost-effective, save time and improve key services standards. The next step will be to train instructors at the Jericho-based Palestinian College for Police Sciences in September 2014. EUPOL COPPS advisers will then assist the instructors to deliver training in the respective districts.
