Ramallah, 25th September 2014 - Human Rights Experts convened the second Working Group Meeting on Fair Trial in Palestine with representatives from the High Judicial Council, Ministry of Justice, Attorney General’s Office and the Palestinian Bar Association. The subject of the second Workshop was the right to a fair and public hearing by a competent, independent and impartial tribunal established by law. The applicable international standards in this respect were explained, after which a discussion on the national legislation commenced. This discussion will resume in the upcoming Working Group session next week.
