PCP and EUPOL COPPS conclude a course on Strategic Communication

Ramallah, November 11, 2014 - Palestinian Civil Police (PCP) and EUPOL COPPS, in cooperation with the Palestinian Government Media Center, have completed a specialised training course on Strategic Communications with media for a number of PCP Public Relations and Media officers.

Nour Odeh, a veteran Palestinian journalist and John Williams, a British media expert, have conducted theoretical and practical lectures over a two-day period for 16 PCP Public Relations and Media officers at the PCP Head Quarters in Ramallah.

The course aimed at building the capacity of the participants in dealing with the media, particularly in times of crisis.

The course tackled the challenges that the police officers encounter in dealing with various media outlets and how to overcome those challenges.

For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Na’el Al-Shurafa, PCP’s Deputy Head of Public Relations and Media Department, praised the efforts of EUPOL COPPS in developing PCP’s logistic and human capabilities in various areas, including media and public relations.
