
Ramallah, November 12, 2014 - The Attorney-General Abdel Ghani Al-Owiwy met this morning in his office the Acting Head of EUPOL COPPS Mr. Rodolphe Mauget in the presence of the Head of the Planning and Policies Department at the Public Prosecution Mr. Yasser Hammad. The meeting focused on the draft proposals that the Public Prosecution is discussing with the PCP and pertaining to the agreement on issues that would be attachments to the original MoU signed with the PCP in 2010.
In turn, Mr. Rodolphe Mauget, stressed the continuous support of EUPOL COPPS to the projects initiated with the Public Prosecution as regards manpower training and the assistance to the specialized departments at the Public Prosecution. He, moreover, praised the achievements of the Public Prosecution during the past short period.
In this context, the Attorney-General stressed the extent of the special relationship between the Public Prosecution and the PCP in particular and with the other security agencies in general. Moreover, he stressed the keenness of the Public Prosecution to enhance this cooperation that would lead to the imposition of the rule of law and order according to the laws applicable in Palestine.
The Attorney-General thanked the EU for the support provided through EUPOL COPPS to the Public prosecution specifically and to the justice sector in general. He also praised what has been achieved and the necessity to look forward to a stable future where the citizen can feel justice and enjoy a decent life.
