EUPOL COPPS delivers photographic equipment to PCP

Ramallah , 27th  May 2015 - EUPOL COPPS delivered photographic equipment to the Palestinian Civil Police (PCP) to enhance their capabilities in fighting crime. EUPOL COPPS has supported the development of surveillance units within the PCP investigation branches to better serve the Palestinian public. The delivery of the equipment would more specialized equipment to complete the available means of the surveillance unit. More precisely, the unit will get five cameras with five professional lenses in order to take photos of criminals during surveillance performed in the field. The second part of the project is to support the PCP to take ID pictures being in compliance with the international standards, enabling the use of automatic face recognition. Furthermore, following international standards will improve collaboration with foreign police organizations. Ultimately, the project will consist of delivering an ID photographic system which will include one camera (fully equipped and programmed, with filter and power supply), two frontal flashes, one background flash and a licensed software in line with the standard ISO/IEC 19794-5. It’s also foreseen a training that will take place in order to train PCP officer on use of ID photograph suit.
