On 26 October 2015, EUPOL COPPS in cooperation with Palestinian High Judicial Council (HJC) held a two-day session on Initial Training and Training of Trainers (ToT) for 11 judges. The event was delivered by two visiting international experts who provided a technical assistance by teaching two groups of Palestinian trainers how to built the curricula and to plan future training for the judiciary. During the sessions, the experts also developed an initial programme for newly elected judges. The group of trainees consists of 11 judges appointed by HJC to be part of the pool of future trainers who will be able to deliver trainings to the judiciary on different topics. Chief Justice Ali Muhanna attended part of the training and expressed his satisfaction. Mr. Muhanna said that the participants were expected to pass the acquired know-how to their colleagues. The project comes in line with EUPOL COPPS’ strategic objective to further enhance the performance and the capabilities of the judiciary, in close coordination with the HJC. The judges praised the valuable support and expected additional sessions in the future.
