The year 2016 marks the 10th anniversary of EUPOL COPPS

The year 2016 marks the 10th anniversary of EUPOL COPPS. In 2006, the Mission was launched to improve the Palestinian Authority law-enforcement capacity with a specific focus on supporting the Palestinian Civil Police. Later, in 2009, the Mission expanded its activities to support the criminal justice system. EUPOL COPPS takes pride in its achievements reached despite the complex political and security environment. In the past 10 years, the Ramallah-based Mission has trained thousands of Palestinian policemen, judges, lawyers and prosecutors. EUPOL COPPS will continue supporting its Palestinian partners as part of the EU’s wider engagement to build the Palestinian institutions, based on the two-state solution.
