
On 10 February 2016, EUPOL COPPS Mission concluded on Wednesday a four-day training for Palestinian Civil Police (PCP) officers to further enhance their capabilities on new traffic system to cut down the number of road accidents. The Training was delivered by two engineers from the Palestinian Polytechnic University. Twenty five police officers from Traffic Administration received a thorough presentation on a software called PC RECT, which deals with motor collision investigation and a drawing programme to create road sketches and accident scene description. They also got firsthand experience on Traffic Case Management System which tackles data collection and analysis for road traffic collisions and police administrative measures. Two Palestinian trainers from PCP Traffic Administration participated in the event, which was held in the training facility of the Palestinian Civil Police. EUPOL COPPS Traffic Police Adviser delivered a presentation on PC-CRASH collision, a tool for trajectory simulation purposes, and explained to the attendees the operative implications on PC RECT and the Traffic Case Management System. Traffic Case Management System is sponsored by EUPOLCOPPS. The police officers who received the training will implement the skills they have mastered in the 11 West Bank districts. Palestinian Civil Police aims at cutting traffic accidents fatalities, where 110 people died in 8,985 in motor collision in 2015.
