EUPOL COPPS hands over training equipment to Palestinian Police

On 26 July, EUPOL COPPS handed over training equipment to the Palestinian Civil Police Training Administration (PCP TA) to carry out “In-Service” trainings throughout the West Bank districts. The shipment consisted of 100 training blue knives, 100 blue guns and 116 mattresses. This equipment will enable trainees to receive safe and proper trainings. The “In-Service” trainings are a model of training delivered at the local level, allowing PCP officers to benefit from training programmes while serving in the units they are assigned to. The programme has been successfully implemented in the Salfit and Tubas districts. Ultimately, the objective is to develop “In-Service” trainings throughout the remaining 9 districts and to ensure sustainability for the future.

The training programme was developed by EUPOL COPPS experts and provides new skills in the field of defensive technics. “In-Service” trainings are to be recurrent and are organized on a yearly basis, including updates on new regulations and techniques.
