Ernst & Young (Palestine office) delivered a capacity-building course organized by EUPOL COPPS to train Palestinian Civil Police (PCP) officer in ‘risk-based inspections’ methodology. </p>
<p>The 8-day training which concluded on 18 May, focused on financial inspections, internal audits, procurement control and prevention of fraud. The training targeted two senior-staff groups working in the PCP’s Inspector General’s Office (IGO). </p>
<p>This event is part of a concerted and continuous efforts by EUPOL COPPS to strengthen the knowledge and performance of a number of accountability and oversight bodies within the police, including the IGO. </p>
<p>Brigadier General Adel Hilles and the PCP participants reported positive feedback on the course and stated that they look forward to the next components of support, namely ‘on-the-job’ training from EUPOL COPPS’ advisers and the development of a manual with standard operating procedures.
